Michael is an established writer for the stage with at least five of his plays having been performed or workshopped. One of these plays, 'Waiting Rooms', was workshopped through a grant from the Australian Writers' Theatre. It has subsequently been performed several times including a season at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. 'Waiting Rooms' was selected by the Australian Script Centre for inclusion in its 1999 Collection, and Michael has received funding from the New South Wales Film and Television Office to complete the second draft of the film script of this play. In 1998, Michael was selected to attend the All Saints Observer Programme. His submission resulted in a further call-back in 1999. He was selected to write an original work for the television series produced by Sue Smith at the ABC entitled 'Close Ups'. 'Who Weekly' recommended the series and acclaimed Michael for his script writing efforts.
