Careys plays: Growing Pretty, Wake and Some Couples May& all received world premieres at The Purple Rose Theatre Company founded by Jeff Daniels. Wake was also produced at the SeaGlass Theatre in Los Angeles and has been optioned for a film that begins shooting this fall. Carey also wrote the screenplay. Green Dot Day was named as a finalist for the 2011 Heideman Award and was produced by and won Miami City Theatres inaugural national short play competition. Glamping was a finalist for the same award and was produced this past August in Ft. Lauderdale. Her latest work, Conviction premiered at Bay Street Theater with Sarah Paulson and Elizabeth Reaser, directed by Scott Schwartz. It co-premiered at The Rubicon Theater and will receive numerous productions in 2016 culminating in New York City. Carey is a graduate of Northwestern University and also studied at The Royal Court Theatre in London.

Synopsis:
Tom Hodges is a charismatic, confident and caring teacher who students adore and parents admire. The smart, wise-cracking colleague with all the answers. The neighbor who takes care of the neighborhood. The perfect husband and father. But when a student accuses Tom of crossing a line, everything changes. This delicately balanced, beautifully nuanced new family drama digs deep beneath the surface of a happy suburban existence to explore the damage done when seeds of mistrust are planted. Glamping

Synopsis:
Myles and Kate leave the comforts of Manhattan and get more than they bargained for on a camping trip to celebrate the wedding of Kates ex. Alongside giant spiders and a lack of bathroom facilities, they find they must journey through the past if they are ever going to have a sustainable future.

Wake

Synopsis:
Molly Harrison is an agoraphobic mortician, anchored to the safety of her funeral home for over three years. Her vivacious mother and precocious teenage daughter try in their own humorous ways to help her take that first step down the front walk, including hypnosis, sensory-overload therapy and a trip to Moscow.
