Bong Bong Bong Against the Walls, Ting Ting Ting In Our Heads
Synopsis:
This is a new play by Dario D'ambrosi, who for over 30 years has worked with mentally disabled people in Italy. It presents a fond theatrical portrait of mentally ill children, whose thoughts are cloudy but whose souls are clear, who are bespattered with pain but whose dignity shines. In fairy tale style, it Dramatizes how their imaginations are limitless and how they flourish when they are loved. the story is told as a dreamy fantasy, with live music, singing, dance, and puppets. Set and object/puppet design are by aurora Buzzetti (Italy). Buzetti developed the concept of the puppets in collaboration with mentally-ill actors and theater artists of Dario D'ambrosi's newly-established Teatro Patologico (Pathological theatre) in Rome, based significantly on their ideas and drawings. This is part of La MaMa's Puppet Series IV.

Crazy Sound, A
Synopsis:
In a Crazy Sound, there are six women with different types of mental pathologies (e.g. schizophrenia, paranoia, catatonic depression). all the patients are controlled by an evil nun. Within this setting, D'ambrosi crafts a play that recreates the night-time sounds and the situations of the hospital. What emerges is a bittersweet show, full of funny moments and surreal sounds, as nights in a madhouse are.

Hamlet Hallucinations
Synopsis:
Italy's Dario D'Ambrosi is a radical innovator of the theater and founder of the movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological Theater). Having staged revolutionary interpretations of "Richard III" in 1996 and "Romeo and Juliet" in 2009, he is now taking on "Hamlet" with a new full-length work, "Hamlet Hallucinations."La Mama E.T.C., D'Ambrosi's theatrical home in the USA, will present the work's world premiere October 17 to November 3. Performed entirely in English, with a script that includes selections of the Bard's soliloquies, the play is set in the graveyard and essentially presents the story from the viewpoint of the gravedigger, who is played by D'Ambrosi. The cast also includes two bilingual Italian actors. The Prince of Denmark is played by Giacomo Rocchini. Hamlet's hallucinations, including the characters of his father, his mother, King Claudius and Ophelia, are played by Mauro F. Cardinali.

Romeo And Juliet
Synopsis:
Italy's Dario D'ambrosi, a radical innovator of the theater and founder of the movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological theater), will stage a novel version of Romeo and Juliet at La MaMa. His interpretation is meant to contrast the marvel of love with the fragility of life, the shock of the moment of total loss, and what he calls a "schizophrenia of the world." To do that, he must distill the beautiful sensuality and emotion of love into a magic moment. "It's like the magic moment when somebody shoots you," he says. "there is no emotion like that moment." D'ambrosi will compress the famous play radically because he thinks that theater is evolving into fast pictures. He says, "When somebody shoots you in war, life goes away in one second. That's the fragility of life. In a hundred years, people won't sit in the theater for an hour or two. the play will be like a flash in a store mirror. Momentary." He aims to make the full theatrical experience momentary. This Romeo and Juliet will have a cast of four: two lovers and two supporting actors. the action is primarily physical but where there is dialogue, it will be in english. To say more would be to give away this radical, artaudian, innovative production's Dramatic surprises.
