MJ (Melissa Jane) Deans is an actor and fluent Gaidhlig speaker from Glasgow. She graduated with a 1st class Honours in Acting from Motherwell College in June of 2013 Her first piece of script writing, "Fiul, dealan 's deoir" (Blood, lightning and tears) was performed as part of the MACH 10 festival in An Lanntair in Stornoway in May 2014 and was directed by Iain MacRae. As an actor, MJ has worked with Horse & Bamboo theatre company, NTS, Glasgow Life, BBC Alba/MG Alba, and Finestripe Productions. This summer she will be appearing in Henry V with Bard in the Botanics, SiCo Productions on their Great Gaelic Ferries commonwealth street theatre project, and also with White Stag Theatre Company on their Gàidhlig production of Macbeth (Macbheatha).
