For the last six years, Richard DeDomenici has been making work that sidesteps the gallery system and reaches out to audiences that may not even realise they are experiencing a live art event. a self-styled 'one-man subversive think-tank', he is renowned for his Street interventions, documentaries and performances, which challenge notions of democracy, bureaucracy and the public realm. His use of humour allows him to push the limits of his interactions with the public; enabling him to challenge, provoke, and raise issues that people may not respond to were they presented in a more traditional performance context.

Superjumbo

Synopsis:
In the absurd and engaging SuperJumbo, DeDomenici ambitiously attempts to recreate an airbus a380 in the intimate surroundings of a private Edinburgh flat. Part lecture, part lo-fi audiovisual spectacle, the show follows a delightfully contradictory flight path of lateral thought that veers from utter pointlessness to captivating clarity and back. DeDomenici's subversive and consistently funny observations on air travel encompass all the 'hot topics' from security issues to some frankly chilling statistics about pollution and climate change.
