Originally from Carnew, Co. Wicklow, Loughlin graduated from Dublin City University in 1992 with a degree in Business Studies. His stage play THE STOMPING GROUND was produced by Red Kettle Theatre Company and was a finalist in the National association of Youth Drama's 'STaGE IT' playwriting scheme. It had previously toured a number of theatres in Ireland. Loughlin was commissioned to write a one-act play by Macra na Feirme, ONE MaN DOWN. Loughlin has also worked in an administrative capacity for the Yew Theatre Company and Druid and for the Belltable Arts Centre as Press and Publicity Officer. He is currently under commission to Red Kettle Theatre in Ireland.

Stomping Ground, The

Synopsis:
a group of university friends return to an old house in Ennistymon, Co. Clare to re-enact a 'mad' weekend they spent there the previous year. as the lads follow their own self-imposed rituals of drinking, dancing, shifting and carousing, the undiscussed truths of their former visit continue to haunt them
