Sob Stories

Synopsis:
Rob, smarting from a bitter break-up, has retreated to an isolated cottage on the coast. One night he encounters a young woman who has apparently been washed up on the beach, and who speaks no language he understands. Rob takes her in, at first resentful of her intrusion upon his solitude, but soon finds that their attempts to communicate without language have formed a bond between them. Time passes and they become closer but, one day, Rob is shocked to discover that his mysterious princess is in fact an English girl from a neighbouring village who has been feeding him outrageous lies in an invented language. Their fragile relationship seems doomed - unless of course they choose to carry on as if nothing has happened. sob stories is an attempt to retell the true story of Mary Baker in a twenty-first century setting.
