My Funny Valentine
Lawrence "Larry" King aged fourteen asks fellow pupil Brandon McInerney to be his "Valentine" . Next day Brandon brings a gun to school and shoots Larry twice in the back of the head. Brandon and other boys had been bullying Larry or Laetitia as he preferred to be called, because he was effeminate - he wore high heels and lipstick to school and because he was out as gay. As a way of defence Larry pretended to make passes at Brandon and when Brandon was asked to be a Valentine he was mocked by the other boys who refused to join him to ambush and beat up Larry.
