La Boheme (Abanxaxchi)
Synopsis:
re-imagining of Puccini's classic is set in the townships of present-day South Africa. Featuring a magnificent score played by an orchestra of marimbas (which won huge acclaim when used in the Magic Flute) and steel pans together with the world-class voices and extraordinary acting talent of the ensemble. Pauline Malefane (Queen of the Night in the Magic Flute) will sing Mimi.

Performed by a black South African ensemble of 33 in five different languages (english, Xhosa, afrikaans, Tswana and Zulu), the Mysteries - Yiimimangaliso brings the timeless biblical stories to life through South African vocal and dance traditions. adam and eve, Cain and abel, God and Jesus are all depicted by the ensemble, led by award-winning singer and musical director Pauline Malefane.
