Steven Drukman. Steven Drukman'sanother Fine Mess premiered at Portland Center Stage and received a Pulitzer Prize nomination in 2003. Other produced plays include In This Corner (on the Joe Louis/Max Schmeling bouts), which recently premiered at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, winning that city's Critics Circle Best New Play award; as well as Going Native(Long Wharf Theatre); Flattery Will Get You (Connecticut Repertory Theatre);Collateral Damage (Illusion Theater, Minneapolis); Snowmaiden (Bob Hope Theatre, Dallas). also: Truth and Beauty(South Coast Repertory, Pacific Playwrights Festival). His most recent play is Naked angels' first-ever commission, titled the Innocents. Mr. Drukman's work has been developed by the Mark Taper Forum, Intiman Theatre, Sundance Theatre Lab, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Playwrights Horizons, South Coast Rep, New York Theatre Workshop, many others. awards: Craig Noel award, Paul Green award, Alfred P. Sloan award, edgerton award for New Plays, Boston Theatre Works, Heideman finalist, others. Other writing: the New York Times, the Village Voice, the International Herald Tribune, the Nation,many others. Mr. Drukman is a former Theatre critic for artforum and WNYC-FM (New York public radio) and former senior editor of American Theatre magazine.

Synopsis:
Backstage, the energy among a troupe of actors is palpable as egos run wild and everyone waits to take their places. But when an unexpected, inexplicable tragedy strikes the stage, ruining it beyond recognition, what do any of them have left? as they grapple with their newfound existential dread, it quickly becomes apparent that only the wonders of the theater have the ability to get them through their mess. a vaudevillian comedy about our need to find hope in the aftermath of catastrophe.
