IN a LaKe OF FIRe is a music-theatre/media piece based on the 1994 Susan Smith case that borrows from the tragedy of Medea. the piece thematically explores perception; racist accusation; the nature of desperation; lying and the need to tell the truth; and what it is to unravel psychologically and spiritually. Hobby Sage has a truck to drive and a load to deliver -- and this evening will be his last. His wife, ever conscious of how he has disappeared into himself and into time, begs him to stay.
