Before I Get Old

Synopsis:
Set in England in the 1950s and 60s, we follow the often comic fortunes of a group of kids - from the chaos of primary school to the uniformity of secondary school, sexual awakening and the trials and tribulations of adolescence. The austerity of post-war Britain gives way to the freedoms and problems of the 'Swinging Sixties' as the kids and their parents face a changing world and values.

Butcher's Dance, The

Synopsis:
Inspired by the tango, 'The Butcher's Dance' takes us from nineteenth-century Buenos Aires, where the dance was invented by immigrants amidst the brothels of the city, to 1929 and the eve of the Wall Street crash in New York, back to Buenos Aires in 1976, where a family is persecuted during the 'Dirty War', and finally to New York 9/11 and the attack on the Twin Towers. The stories of the characters are interlinked over the epochs, as is the evolution of the tango, in a tapestry that examines the links between people and cultures in their common humanity. The play juxtaposes real historical characters and events with fictional characters in a dynamic and exciting way.

Devil's Tunic, The

Synopsis:
This epic thriller begins as the tomb of Mary Magdalene is discovered in SW France and her DNA is tracked to Australia. The play moves from Biblical times to Medieval France, where the Cathars are persecuted, and then to nineteenth-century France and the discovery of scrolls which may lead to the Holy Grail. Finally it takes us to contemporary Australia where a prostitute, a Muslim refugee and a Scrabble champion each believe that they and they alone are the descendant of the union of Christ and Mary Magdalene. Meanwhile America has declared war in the Middle East. If the descendant of Christ can't be found in time, the characters may face extinction.
