Synopsis:
American War of Independence and Deborah Sampson enlists in the army as a man - "Robert Shurtleff". She took part in various battles and was wounded twice - each time she took care of herself to avoid detection. She caught a fever and her true sex was discovered. She had to face demands that she be executed for passing herself of as a man.
