Joanna Erskine is a graduate of the NIDa Playwright's Studio and a core writer for atyp's Fresh Ink in 201o. Her writing career kick-started after winning the STC Young Playwrights award for her first play, Waiting for the 9.07. She has undertaken residencies with La Mama NYC in Umbria, Playwriting Australia, the Bundanon Trust, Shopfront Theatre and has been a delegate at World Interplay. Plays include K.I.J.E. (Old Fitzroy Theatre), Boot (Tell It Like It Isn't, atyp, 2011), Bye Bye Baby (Slide Bar), Little Mouse (Brand Spanking New), Clippings (NIDa), Foot (Griffin Theatre's 24 hour Play Generator), Baby Doll (Stories from the 428) and Midsummer Madness, Macbeth: Undone (Bell Shakespeare Learning). Astroturf Kings

Synopsis:
In a neighbourhood sweltering from the heat, two boys stare out across the street at one another. While Bennys mum encourages him to play with Jack, Jacks mum tries to keep him away from Benny. One scorching summers day, in the street that Mr Whippy forgot, the boys meet for the first time. But is not until a very special delivery, that Benny and Jack will become the astroturf Kings, and discover they are not so different after all.

In 2003 Kathleen Folbigg was convicted of murdering her four children before any of them grew beyond nineteen months of age. She maintains her innocence to this day. Bye Bye Baby follows the story of two very different women, struggling with the same guilt. Synopsis:
In a suburban hairdressing salon, Tiffany prepares for her upcoming marriage. For Vera, her mother, this is the happiest day of their lives and she will let nothing stand in the way. as Louise sweeps the dead hair clippings away, Vera and Tiffanys world will come crashing down with the arrival of the mysterious client, Sela. amongst the primping, fussing and idle gossip of the salon, a rotten, sinister core will be exposed.

Synopsis:
One night, Will leaves for work and never comes back. In ancient Italy, if a man tossed the object of his love a tomato she could either catch it or let it fall. The love fruit was a symbol for his heart  accepted or destroyed in a crushed, oozy mess.
