Greg evans is the creator of the nationally syndicated comic strip, Luann, which appears in over 400 newspapers in the U.S. and abroad. Greg was captivated by cartooning at an early age. Raised in Burbank, California, home of Disney Studios, Greg rode his bike to the studio gate to hang around, hoping to be the first eight-year-old hired by Walt. In 1971 Greg graduated from Cal State Northridge, got a teaching credential and taught high school art for four years. He married, moved to Australia for two years, returned to Colorado and worked as a graphic artist at a TV station. But the cartooning bug was still alive and he began seriously working on ideas for comic strips. after half a dozen failed attempts, Greg found inspiration in his preteen daughter - in March, 1985 Luann was born. In 2004 Greg was chosen "Cartoonist Of the Year" by the National Cartoonists Society. Today Greg lives and works at his home in San Diego, California with his wife Betty. Of Luann Greg says, "I've always felt that the teen years are a very amusing time - except when you're in them. My goal in Luann is to touch heArts as well as funny bones, to enlighten as well as entertain."
