Piano Tuner, The

Synopsis:
consisting of a 70-minute monologue for a piano tuner who has come to put right a grotesquely out-of-tune upright in a middle-class London home. He cheerily accepts several beverages ("tea, not too weak, with two level sugars"), digestive biscuits, and a slice of walnut cake, and, when.the lady of the house understandably flees his garrulous presence, he atso helps himself to a pair of her knickers, which he sniffs with palpable pleasure. - Spencer, Daily Telegraph
