No Song No Supper
No Song No Supper
NO SONG NO SUPPER recreates those golden days when whole towns surged onto the streets for the triumphant arrival of the Players; when for a whole fortnight they play was the thing. For over a hundred years, the Norwich and Fisher companies of Comedians toured East anglia, performing in barns, booths and beer-houses across the region; and the building of the Theatres Royal in the big towns, and the setting up of a chain of playhouses from Wells to Woodbridge only confirmed their success and popularity. The 70-year-old juvenile Mr Penchard, the young but ardent Mr Hackett, the ravishing Mrs Inchbald, and the extraordinary Fisher family give the performances of their lives.
