Dan Fingermans first play The Austerity of Hope was performed at the 2011 Fresh Fruit Festival and returned to play a critically acclaimed engagement in 2012 at the Abingdon Theatre Company. Currently employed by Guilford Publications, a distinguished academic publishing firm, he has previously worked for a number of politicians, including NYC Council Speaker Gifford Miller and Christine Quinn. A graduate of the University at Albany (State University of New York) his leadership of numerous campus-wide organizations was recognized when he was asked to deliver the university-wide Commencement address. He is a member of CBST, an LGBT synagogue and serves on the Steering Committee of Out Astoria. For the past seven years he has led Dans Team raising over $25,000 for AIDS Walk New York. A native of Huntington, NY he currently resides in Astoria and is at work on numerous new projects.
