Dear Billy

Synopsis:
This is the story of a soldier and his girl - with one ironic twist. the year is 1863. the soldier is in the Union army, encamped near a small Pennsylvania town called Gettysburg. His girl is from - South Carolina! By way of letters written by the soldier to his younger brother, we embark upon a musical journey that examines the forces that led to our nation's most severe crucible - and along with that, the conflict engendered between loyalty to one's heritage and recognition of the greatest injustice ever inflicted upon Americans.

My Child

Synopsis:
This is the story of a little girl, abducted from her African home, transported across an ocean in the vilest of conditions and then placed, cold and terrified, upon an auction block in colonial Boston. From those horrific beginnings, the musical traces the path she took to become our nation's first published black poet, Phillis Wheatley. It is the story of the love of a white woman for a black child, a love that nourished an untapped intelligence, allowing it to pour forth in a profusion of literary expression.
