An Irish actor and playwright based in Limerick, Mike won the Stewart Parker Award for PIGTOWN in 2000, which also received 4 Irish Times Theatre Award nominations and was produced off-Broadway. He is a prolific writer of plays and has also written 12 pantomimes. For TV, Mike has co-written extensively with Irish comedian Pat Shortt notching up 36 episodes of the IFTA nominated KILLINASKULLY (RTE) and they have piloted 2 further comedy series.

Charlie Chaplin's Mother Was An Irish Man
Synopsis:
This one-man show tells the story of a young man who waits outside a LimErick nightclub for his sometime girlfriend to arrive. as he waits he examines the ups and downs of his life, the contents of his pockets, a nearby dustbin and the city life he sees around him in an attempt to discover the meaning of it all, and more importantly, the money for a taxi home. at the same time, the actor portraying him has a few choice words to add about the actor's life.

Crunch, The
Synopsis:
a free adaptation of Moliere's Tartuffe, which relocates this savage look at religious bigotry to Ireland in 1992, at the time of the Right to Travel and Information Referenda. the play examines what happens when an ordinary Irish household comes under the influence of a religious hypocrite trying to impose his warped ideals on others, while being a scoundrel himself.

Pigtown
Synopsis:
Pigtown is a theatrical journey through the history of 20th-century LimErick, seen through the eyes of one man. On the morning of his death, Tommy wanders the streets of LimErick meeting characters from his life and times as scenes from his past take shape before him. Pigtown travels up and down the twentieth century visiting incidents famous and forgotten, including the emergency, the 'LimErick Soviet' and the Boer War.
