Mike's plays have been produced Off-Broadway, regionally around the U.S. and internationally, winning several awards. Dramatist Guild Magazine named him one of "Fifty Playwrights to Watch." Born and raised on the New Jersey shore, Mike graduated from Rutgers University with B.A.s in English and Theatre. He later studied acting and related disciplines at H.B. Studios in New York City with Carol Rosenfeld and Sandy Dennis, among others. After working professionally as an actor for ten years, including two seasons in rep at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Mike began writing plays. He studied playwriting with Milan Still at Circle Rep in the early '90s. Mike's play The Adjustment was produced Off-Broadway, starring Tony nominee Liz Larsen, directed by Pam Berlin; a subsequent First Class Tour of Great Britain starred Stefanie Powers. Naked by the River has been produced at several theaters in the U.S., appeared in production at London's Tristan Bates Theater in the West End and, as Nacht Am Fluss, at Cologne's Moving Theatre, Germany. NJ Rep premiered Mike's wildly comic road-trip farce, Panama, which went on to play at several U.S. theaters before moving on to the Dublin Fringe. A production of Mike's New-Age bedroom farce, Lemonade, took the stage at Hollywood's Tamarind Theatre, starring Maxwell Caulfield. The Algonquin Theater in NYC produced Mike's corporate hostage drama Slave Shack, directed by Debra Whitfield. London's well-known Hen and Chickens comedy pub theater (Islington) producedLove in the Insecurity Zone, directed by Niki Flacks. Mike was commissioned to write Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story, by the late Broadway and film producer George George, who originated Memphis and produced the film My Dinner With Andre.

Lemonade
Synopsis:
a New-age bedroom farce with a twist. Carl is married to Jane but having an affair with office-mate Betsy. Betsy wants Carl to leave Jane and marry her - something he continually promises to do, but never does. When Carl's college friend Jim is invited to dinner, the unsuspecting Jane invites Betsy, too, in an attempt to play matchmaker. But Jim falls madly in love with Jane at first sight. When he inadvertently overhears Carl and Betsy on the baby monitor and learns of their affair (and her frustrations), Jim suggests to Betsy that they fake a torrid love affair with each other. This way they can see Carl and Jane socially as a couple. Betsy can use these occasions to make Carl jealous, while Jim woos Jane on the sly. But just as the plan begins to work and the Carl/Jane marriage is on the verge of break-up, Jim and Betsy discover that their "phony" love affair is a lot more real than they think.
