Dear Santa

Synopsis:
Dear Santa is composed of a number of short scenes that range from the hilarious to the touching. Many views of Santa are seen - from the point of view of the child who alphabetizes her Christmas list and sends it out in August as well as that of children at various stages of belief - and disbelief! Santa and his helpers shed light on many of the mysteries surrounding him, including why you don't always get the gift you ask for, how Santa delivers all those gifts in one night, how he finds children spending Christmas away from home, and how his power transcends the boundaries of race, gender and religion. Of course, sometimes being Santa isn't all that great - your helpers fight over which one is best and occasionally you get arrested for shoplifting by those of little faith. But in the end, it is the faith of the many that sustains Santa.

The Stargazer takes you on this unique journey through four scenes. First stop-a small town in the middle of nowhere. These places don't like murders, and they like murderers even less. We call it "Framed," but your audience will call it suspenseful, right up to the last twist. In "The Experiment," college students are putting together a science project, but new language creeps into their conversation. By the end we know why. These students are from another planet. "Lila Mae" begins act Two with the question: How do you preserve innocence? The answer comes in an old abandoned house once owned by the Thorpes, whose young daughter disappeared this day many years ago. Finally, "Deep Sleep" teaches us that we are not really in control, as Franklin relives a dinner scene with his family over and over again. Strange Happenings is the perfect show for any group wanting something different. While it skirts the fringe of terror, it remains perfectly appropriate for school casts and audiences. Unless, of course, they frighten easily!

Virtual Soap

Synopsis:
Several years ago, Professor Flitcraft, a band of his college students, and his nephew Charlie discovered how to make holographic characters appear lifelike. They began using them in a local TV soap opera but now the college is getting set to close his lab down unless the Professor can come up with something new -- and soon. The pressure builds when his wife aunt Tilde, (well, not really his wife but that's another soap opera) has been seen doing weird things and a social worker wants to declare her crazy. Charlie and the other students hit upon their newest computer program, IMPROV, which allows the holographic characters to improvise their own scripts. So lights . . . camera . . . who knows what's going to come out of their mouths, especially at the all-important demo for the faculty! and the trouble doubles when aunt Tilde and a schizophrenic jewel thief manage to sneak in with the computer characters with the police right on their tails. The result is a sidesplitting, scene-shifting, fast-action comedy. Your actors will love the opportunity to play multiple, wild computer/real characters in this soap opera within a soap opera.

Whodunit And To Whom

Synopsis:
Looking for the "Whodunit" to end all "Whodunits"? Then look no further! This hilarious spoof of the classic "gumshoe story" has more twists than a loop of licorice. Henpecked paint salesman Harold Finnegan is trying to pound out his umpteenth third-rate detective story on his typewriter. as he writes, we see the actions played out by actors on stage. and as he corrects his writing, we see the actors forced to revise their actions! Harold's story introduces us to the beautiful Russian painter nicknamed anytime, and our hero, Detective Grip. as the Russian spins her tale, she faints, and when the "pizza guy" shows up, he believes that Grip has killed her, though he does pause long enough to accept a generous tip. From there, our tale really goes wild-from policeman wielding rubber bands (Harold doesn't like violence in his plays) to a villain modeled after Harold's arch-enemy at work to Grip's vengeful, genius daughter.. Strange characters keep cropping up. . . characters with the power to stop the play and freeze the other characters. Who really is writing this play anyway?

Whodunit - Who's The Big Idea Anyway?

Synopsis:
Harold Finnegan, paint salesman and plodding detective writer, is creating another third-rate mystery. Like its popular sister play, WhoDunit. . . and to Whom?, this is a wildly funny, fast-paced spoof of the classic gumshoe story. You see, as Harold pounds out his bad plays, we see the actions played out by thought-forms on stage. and as he corrects his writing, we see the actors forced to revise their actions! In this caper, our hero, Grip, finds himself captured by the Evil Siamese Triplets in search of the identity of the "You've got mail" voice. When Harold is called away by his demanding wife Tessie, the thought-forms take their "rehearsal break" and play cards with a Shakespearean thought-form and a gunslinger. Harold returns and-lo and behold-writes them into his mediocre script! But this is just the beginning. You see, Harold's not really the writer here. The true "valley dude" authors decide that Harold will develop a splitting headache which will result in he and his kids switching places with the thought-forms. Macho Grip becomes the hen-pecked husband while Gunslinger and Shakespeare turn into obnoxious children!
