Porridge in the Morning
Synopsis:
The play is based on the real life 1911 diary of Maryhill's own 16-year old Colin A. Fraser. It reflects Colin's humorous and touching commentary on his 'fitba' pals, numerous girlfriends, his hopes and resolutions, and a banner year in Glasgow's history, including the Singer and Tramcar strikes, Suffragette marches, the International Exhibition at Kelvingrove, and his visits to the Panopticon to see the music hall stars of the day. The scenes are short, sharp and performed in quickfire sequence in the style of Edwardian music hall sketches. Let the play take you back in time on a comedic and moving journey, experience the music hall where Stan Laurel performed, and help restore this historic building, all for just £5!
