Mothers And Daughters

Mothers And Daughters
a psychological thriller. In this wealthy, sophisticated family, no one has been murdered and no detective has been invited to solve any crime. But a cruel crime has indeed been committed. Someone in this unusual family has been deeply wounded. Someone is the pathetic victim of an unmentionable crime. Who? Is the mother a new Medea? Repeated discoveries and reversals make for continued excitement, and the ending as in virtually all Fratti Dramas is startling.

Nine

Nine
Based on Fellini's classic film 8 ½ , this spectacular musical delighted Broadway theatergoers in a hit revival in 2003 starring antonio Banderas. Nine is the story of a celebrated film director Guido Contini and his attempts to come up with a plot for his next film as he is pursued by hordes of beautiful women, all clamoring to be loved by him and him alone. Flashbacks reveal the substance of his life-which will become the material for his next film: a musical version of the Casanova story. Nine is now a major motion picture from Rob Marshall, the acclaimed director of the 2002 film version of Chicago. Of the Broadway musical, Marshall said it is a sumptuous and emotional work that translates naturally to the film musical genre because of its seamless relationship between fantasy and reality. Composer and lyricist Maury Yeston worked on the film adaptation and created three new songs for the movie musical, which was released in December, 2009.

Sister

Sister
depicts the strains of an Italian family in which a teenage son, wise beyond his years, lives uneasily with his 59 year-old mother and his thirty-something sister. the boy is blessed with a professorial vocabulary and cursed with a judgmental mind. He resents his sister's desperate relationships with men, accuses her of promiscuity and responds self-righteously to his mother's queries about his own relations with women. the play starts off like an indictment of male machismo and double-standards with a Strindbergian touch. then, in typical Fratti style, the play turns on its heel. Shocking, mysterious secrets are revealed. the boy's arrogance gives way to humility and greater understanding

Three Sisters and a Priest

Synopsis:
In 1999, Pope John Paul II stated in a public meeting, "Forget the popular notion of actual physical places--fluffy clouds above, an inky inferno below. Think of hell as a state of mind, a self-willed exile from God." This inspired playwright Mario Fratti to write a play in which three elderly, wealthy sisters are fascinated and confused by the Holy Father's words and summon a priest to clarify them. It is an ambush. He does not realize it.
