After Day Breaks
Synopsis:
Where the world of the mind meets the world of the Universe.the entire play is enacted in Freud's house in Vienna,1936, where the Nazis are already making serious inroads into the life of the city. During the course of the play, Nazi bands intermittently lay siege to Freud's home and cause several serious incidents. the 5 characters are famous in their own right. Sigmund Freud who is just3 months into his 81st year. anna Freud, his daughter: albert einstein: Immanuel Velikovsky and Arnold Zweig. their animate discussions which initially range between Psychoanalysis and Physics are controversial and humorous and soon the issue of religion intrudes as a third factor and is hotly debated. However, Psychoanalysis asserts itself on a deeply personal level and Freud becomes the object of hostile accusations by Velikovsky. Subsequently this is vigorously countered by exalted praise, not least by Velikovsky himself. another counter attack occurs when Velikovsky himself is then subjected to acrimonious ridicule and mockery on his theories of Cosmic catastrophes. the proverbial ending ensures that the fundamental issues involved are sure to continue unresolved.
