B.J. Gandolfo hails from the great state of New Jersey and comes to playwriting by way of musical theatre. She is presently writing the book, music and lyrics for two musicals which she developed at Primary Stages Einhorn School for the Performing Arts and where she studied with Kait Kerrigan, Adam Gwon, and Brian Lowdermilk. Other great mentors and teachers: Richard Endquist, Maury Yeston, Tom Boras, Fred Silver. She plays keyboards on Disneys The Lion King and has music directed many shows including Cabaret, The Whos Tommy, Cinderella, Grease, Theyre Playing Our Song, and Once on this Island. Education: the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and New York University which produced her work, Wuthering Heights the Musical.

The Challenge: In light of the Mayan apocalyptic belief that we have another eight months to live, writers were asked to create a 2-minute monologue based upon this theme from the perspective of either a child, politician, religious leader, or scientist.
