Angela Gant has received two national playwriting awards at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, including the Paula Vogel Award for Social Darwinism (published by Samuel French). Ms. Gant also enjoyed attending the Sundance Theatre Laboratory as the Kennedy Center Grantee. Her current projects include So this Guy Walks Into a Bar (screenwriter, short film, post-production 2012), a webisode series (Delilah Cotto producing, pre-production 2012), and Sins of the Father (screenwriter, pre-production 2012). In 2009 Ms. Gant wrote the book for the musical Three Dames Make a Queen, which made its debut at Dont Tell Mama in New York City. She wrote and produced Backpage, a feature length mockumentary in 2008 (trailer available on IMDB), and co-wrote the play The Body of Eva Peron with William L. (winner, Playmarket 2007; reading, 37 Arts, NYC; selected, 2007 Last Frontier Theatre Festival, Valdez, Alaska). Ms. Gant is finishing her Ph.D. at Texas Tech University. She just completed When the Rains Came, a commissioned screenplay. Another of her full-length plays, Jill the Ripper debuted in 2007 and is still running rampant occasionally.

Synopsis:
Three Dames Make a Queen is the only four person one-man musical comedy in NYC. as Charles turns 30 his Inner Latina, Inner Jewish Mother, and Inner Naive Girl manifest for the first time since childhood to "help" him with his crisis. even the best intentions may not be best for Charles. Trouble ensues and complications arise, including a relationship that forces him to come to terms with himself.

Social Darwinism
Social Darwinism is an absurdist socio-political comedy that follows a familial group: an alpha Male, alpha Female, Second Banana, Subordinate Female, adolescent Male, adolescent Female, Outside Male, and Outside Female as they move through several different social classes. The plays looks at racism, male homosexuality, and feminist ideals. additionally, Social Darwinism shows the subjugation of women, which changes as the play evolves.
