Judy GeBauer has had plays performed at the Philadelphia Festival Theatre, the Long Wharf Theatre, the Irish Arts Center, the Chocolate Bayou Theatre, and the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. among her awards are the HBO Writing award, the Dennis McIntyre Playwriting award, and an Innovation award from the Colorado Federation for the Arts. She has received grants from the W. alton Jones Foundation, the Steinberg Charitable Trust, and the Denver Women's Press (Grand Citation), and recently enjoyed a residency at the Djerassi artists Colony. Her plays includethe Hidden Ones, Bobby Sands, MP, Magician Reversed, the Nip and the Bite,and Mrs. Plenty Horses, the last of which was chosen for performance at the O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference in July 2001. Her monologues appear in Heinemann Books' From the Road, Baseball Monologues, and elvis Monologues. Ms. GeBauer was playwright-in-residence at the Denver Center Theatre Company in 1995, and is currently a member of the Playwrights Unit hosted there. She is a recipient of the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild's Julie Harris Playwriting award and first prize in the Dubuque Fine Arts One act Play Festival.

Good Night, Valsetz

Synopsis:
It is the early 1980s, the timber industry in the Pacific Northwest is collapsing, and the company town of Valsetz is about to be razed. a young man comes back to see the town for the last time, and to reconnect, momentarily, with his mother and the sister he tried to murder. But like the town, he has gone through major changes.

Reclaimed

Synopsis:
Vivien Fielding has been a captive of the Sioux since 1864. She returns to her former life in the white world only to face interrogation by hostile army officers and rejection by her husband. In an attempt to reunite with her young daughter, Vivien reluctantly becomes a spectacle on the lecture circuit, but only finds peace after returning to the wilderness. This play expertly evokes the character and contradictions of late 19th century America, focusing on one woman's struggle for identity and a sense of home.

Secret Earth, The

Synopsis:
Dreading a weekly visit by Rufus and his endangered pet monkey, Tot and Peto face a truly difficult dinner party: their marriage has hit a surprise crisis, their drunken friend Justice won't stop raving about ancient Rome, and the monkey turns out to be dead. the Secret earth is an innovative and wickedly dry ensemble comedy.

Young Housewife, A

Synopsis:
In a surreal soliloquy of passion and violence, a young woman tries to come to terms with having murdered a drifter. Her only listeners are two wild creatures, a lizard and a butterfly. Bewildered and fighting panic, she faces not only her sudden violent act but also the violence she has known all her life.
