Andrea Gillies has worked as a builder's labourer, dishwasher, publicist, theatre organiser, life model and pre-op crotch shaver, but now earns a living (sort of) writing for animation series such as John Callahan's Quads!. She prefers to write for performance - of any description - but finds theatre the most liberating; anything is possible in that space.

Last Word, The
Synopsis:
A young woman who has missed her tram decides to walk home... What would your mind do if it thought death might be approaching? Would a light simply be switched off, or would you hang above your body or skip lightly up the path to the pearly gates - or would you fight? Maybe you'd panic and imagine possible futures or different pasts that lead another way - or perhaps someone would come to your rescue. A play about death and grief, and how we might react as we try to deny the moment of death.

Sugar
Synopsis:
A young soldier (stretcher bearer John Simpson Kirkpatrick) and his donkey argue on the battlefield at Gallipoli. Will they save one more life or flee and survive? Is it possible to do nothing at all? What are courage and mateship? When we have a choice to make, does it all come down to sugar, or is there something more?
