Pennie is a painter potter musician and writer. Her play Home Sweet Home was performed by Foursight Theatre for a four night run in 2004. The play is a two hander about two elderlly women who keep their spirits up by talking about their hubands (and wearing their husbands knickers) and confessing emotional and dark secrets to each other. In places it's hilarious and in places it's sad. Pennie has also written several plays and a musical, exploring the problems and the fun around gender reassignment. These are The Changeling (a musical), Maureen and Will an explicit dark comedy and Bill and Laura, an emotional tragedy. Her play ann and em is a lighthearted look at the problems which might be encountered when attempting to murder two husbands.

Synopsis:
ann and em are sisters who both have a failed or failing relationship.They decide to murder the offending males with hilarious and frightening results. They do not succeed for rather odd reasons.

Bob And Laura

Synopsis:
Laura can't cope with Bob's proposed sex change and we slowly find out through the intervention of a neighbour and the police that their arguments have resulted in mutilation and mental illness. Very dark.

Changelling, The

Synopsis:
The reactions of a husband and wife to the gender reassignment under taken by the husband. They go from sharing their clothes and swapping dresses at their wedding, through the misery of the realization that only a real change of his sex will solve the problem, to losing and regaining each other via a bizarre resolution involving retaining part of the genitals lost in surgery. Funny, sad, mad, gruesome, with a few memorable tunes - Last June, I've Turned her into a Lesbian, and Dracula, which involves a strip down to a red leotard and a large inflated penis which, when released flies rouond the stage as the air wooshes out.

Synopsis:
Glad and Marge keep up their spirits by talking about their husbands, their lovers and wearing their husbands knickers. Both have a secret which when revealed includes coming out as a lesbian and confessing to a murder. a light hearted black comedy.
