For TV, he wrote for Playhouse 90, Omnibus, Kraft Theatre, etc. Films; the Fastest Gun alive, Desperate Characters, From Noon till Three, Once in Paris. President of the Dramatists Guild, 1969-71. Recipient: Obie award, 1962; Pulitzer Prize, 1964; New York Drama Critics Circle award, 1965; Berlin Film Festival, 1971.
