Glimmer
Synopsis:
We called the show Glimmer, because in dark times what is the thing you can look to?,' asks Jess Thorpe, co-artistic director of Glas(s). And the answer is each other. It's not about stuff or shopping or all the things it sometimes feels like it's about.' To illustrate her point, Thorpe has recruited real-life sisters Megan and Rosie, only one of whom is filled with the Christmas spirit. Megan has forgotten how to feel joyful about the season,' explains Thorpe. She's focussing more on the fact that it's cold and dark. So the story of the show is her sister trying lots of different ways to remind her what's important: spending time with the people you love.'

Happiness Project, The
Synopsis:
Are we looking for happiness in all the wrong places? A brand new Roundhouse production exploring our understanding of happiness and well-being, devised by a company of young artists, scientists and academics. "I looked for it on Blackpool beach with my Mum. I looked for it in a raspberry ripple cheesecake. I looked for it in detention. I looked for it online. I looked for it in my gut. I looked for it but it got complicated." Devised in response to reports that raised concerns over young people's well-being in the UK, The Happiness Project is an intergenerational piece of personal and moving contemporary theatre that journeys through autobiographical stories set to a musical landscape to explore the human condition. Directed by Emma Higham and Tashi Gore (Glas(s) Performance), the production has been devised by young artists aged 12-19 and academics who will also be performing in the show.
