Carla is a London-based writer and Co-Artistic Director of the Hurlyburly Theatre Company. Recently she won the 2013 Nick Darke Award for her play Made for Him. Her work has been performed at Little Pieces of Gold's Festopia (Theatre503 2013), Labfest (Theatre503 2012) and in South Africa. She is currently developing work for Little Pieces of Gold at the Park Theatre as well as other projects through Hurlyburly Theatre Company. She was selected for the Puglia Experience Screenwriting Fellowship in 2011 and won the Euroscript Screen Story Contest in 2009. Her work has been recognised at the BBC as part of their 2008 Sharps Competition and as a finalist in the 2008 Channel 4 Talent Awards.

Driven by a desire for belonging, two Romanian immigrants kidnap an Englishman to learn how to be English.
