Synopsis:
Sir Barnaby insists that his son Freddie marries his cousin Joan. But Freddie loves May and his father will not let him marry her. Joan loves writer Hilary. Hilary is writing an adventure novel about a plucky young girl called Primrose. Toby is engaged to Pinkie - but now has cold feet. He persuades Hilary to pretend to woo Pinkie so that he can catch them and break off the engagement. However, Joan catches Hilary instead.

The Duke of Shetland invites a group of friends to his London house to watch a parade that is being given in honour of the Emir of Baluchistan. The Duke had asked his nephew Lord Theodore to invite their friends. But Theodore has sold tickets for the parade to a group of disreputable people including a gigolo and a professional divorce correspondent
