Romeo and Eliza 011
Romeo and Eliza 011
Synopsis:
A virtual reality, multi lingual private chat room with 4 Avatars: ROMEO, ELIZA 011, JULIET and GENCO GULAN. They chat together in the same room, in pairs. The couples ROMEO and ELIZA 011, JULIET and GENCO GULAN chat separately. The pairs talk quickly after each other, followed by a pause, as if their lines are related. The text of "ROMEO and ELIZA 011" is created exclusively on the Internet. The author utilized the scenes from "ROMEO and JULIET", where the couple seems to be communicating. Genco Gulan deconstructed these paragraphs into sentences and then, used these lines -as data- to generate new sentences. The author used A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) robots to create "artificial dialogues". For the project author developed two AI chat bots. Still he utilized a total of six robots, three robots for each person, to create the play. The additional robots (that which are listed in the references section) utilized the Internet -as a database- hence add a different dimension to the project. Classical Eliza chat bots, use question sentences and create a feeling of a dialogue but not a real one. As a coincidence many of the William Shakespeare's lines end with a question mark.
Notes:
The play is mostly in English. However this is a multi lingual play. It contains Turkish and many other languages. You may keep them as it is OR some of these parts may be translated into other native languages, for example Spanish, if needed. And again the text contains many non Latin letters and signs. You may use a text to speech engine to convert these parts into sounds.
