Philip Hall began his theatrical career as an actor, touring the country in a number of shows, including The Reluctant Debutante starring Joseph Cotten. He is the author and composer of musicals, 10- minute plays, full-length plays, and Musicals for Young Audiences. His works have been produced around the country from Washington's Kennedy Center to California Theatre Center, where his faithful adaptation of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW was launched worldwide. He has been a finalist for the Humana Festival's HEIDEMAN AWARD and the New Play Network's SMITH prize. His published works include the 10-minute comedies INSIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF THE EXTERIOR, CUSTOMER SERVICE, and NO SUGAR. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, AEA, and SAG-AFTRA. He lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida with his wife, quilt artist Leslie A. Hall.

Synopsis:
Mid-level attorney Joseph Balton has been named Special Prosecutor by the Governor of Florida. His assignment: look into a trial that has yet to take place, a trial whose preliminary proceedings have been making their way through a maze of legal hearings and motions for ten long years. The trial involves an elderly woman who confessed to the arson murder of three children. Unfortunately, the woman is mentally handicapped, and her ability to stand trial has become the predominant issue.
