Maura Halloran is a Canadian actor and writer. Born in Toronto and raised half there and half in Edmonton, Alberta, Maura grew up deeply influenced and inspired by both her hometowns' vibrant theatre scenes. She trained in theatre at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, augmenting her BFA in Acting with playwriting courses at the Creative Writing Program. Significant artistic mentors include Christine Klein, Eunice Scarfe, Ruth DyckFehderau, David Savoy, Christina Augello, Ed Decker, Rob Melrose and all her teachers at UBC - especially Tom Scholte for PUSSY, Kevin Kerr and Bryan Wade for playwriting. Maura is now an Associate Artist with The Cutting Ball Theatre in San Francisco, a member of The United Solo Academy and won Best Actress for PUSSY at The United Solo Theatre Festival 2013, the worlds largest festival of solo performance.
