Born in Northumberland in 1947. Worked as a current affairs producer for BBCTV 1969-80 before moving to comedy to co-create and co-produce with ( John Lloyd ) 'Not The Nine O'Clock News', for which he was also a writer. Subsequent TV credits as producer/director/writer include 'Spitting Image' and 'Bremner Bird and Fortune'. He has also written three novels and a number of scripts for BBC and Channel 4. awards include BAFTA, RTS, US Emmy, and Montreux. He lives in County Kilkenny, Ireland with his wife, the poet and novelist Kerry Hardie.

Burning Your Boats

Synopsis:
Rick, a newly married and unemployed young actor, is accidentally cast to play Ulysses in a movie of the Illiad being shot by renegade producer Leo Boross in albania. The shoot, like the siege, over-runs; and Rick, like Ulysses, has trouble getting back to his wife Linda, who unlike Ulysses' wife Penelope has plans - and a life - of her own

Demons

Synopsis:
To celebrate Oran Mors 250th play a group of Scottish writers collaborated to produce The Jean-Jacques Rousseau Show. Those writers were Dave Anderson, Davey Anderson, Alan Bissett, Catrin Evans, Mike Gonzalez, Sean Hardie, Kieran Hurley, David MacLennan, Gary McNair, Amanda Monfrooe and Julia Taudevin. Joined Now By David Greig and Lewis Hetherington, they have got together again to write this companion piece - Demons. A modern day variety show of songs, scenes, comedy, tragedy and polemic.

Moldova
