Requiem For Denys

Synopsis:
Denys Anderson is Educationally Subnormal. after his mother - with whom he had lived all his life - dies, his brother Jim and sister-in-law Sally rake him to live with them, following a promise Sally had made to Deny's mother that Deny's would always have a home with them. The play follows the ups and downs of a family caring for a less fortunate of that family and, though it seems improbable at the beginning, they realise after Deny's death, that they have gained more from him than he has received from them. Throughout the play, which chronicles the trauma, sadness and temporary frustrations of the characters there is a rich vein of humour, mostly stemming from Denys himself. The play is intended as a tribute to the thousands of ordinary people who daily care for others and, through their selfish attitude, become extraordinary, although they would never admit it.

Widower's Way

Synopsis:
The play follows the adjustments required by Peter Mason after having become a widower approximately a year previous. Throughout the play we experience with him, his thoughts, actions and reactions, concerning his son and daughter-in-law, his daughter and her partner, his mother and various friends and acquaintances. Rosie, his dead wife, features prominently in the play, observing, encouraging and criticising Peter's many changes of mood. although the subject of bereavement is in no way funny, there are many scenes in the play that are amusing. The author hopes that audiences will see it as a "heart-warming journey into hope".
