Loook At Us Now
Synopsis:
Twirling toward bed on a Friday night, about to celebrate their ninth anniversary, Joan whispers to Dan, "Let's just cuddle, hmm?" But with that hum, the mood - and music - segues from a ballad to the blues, then bossa and bebop, as the dissonant couple riffs on an emerging theme: marital intimacy and, specifically, the lack thereof. It climaxes when exasperated Joan asks baffled Dan, "What do you want from me?" What he wants, it turns out, is the memory of a woman he once knew, the melody of a love once shared. Surprised, Joan can only agree. Together, then, they look back in time, searching for that song of old. Unfortunately, every anniversary preceding only reveals further discord in their duet: kids, careers, home improvement projects, aTM slips, laundry even. It's not until their final chance at a shared memory - their first date in college - that they rediscover the secret they've sought: namely, the sublime harmony of giving up one's own desires for the sake of your beloved's. It's a truth that engaged them then. . .and now. . .as they return to the present and twirl once more toward bed. and this time, they do more than cuddle.

Making Choices
Synopsis:
Deniece, Jessie, Michael, Claire and Shawn are classmates. Jessie and Michael are going out. Same with Claire and Shawn. Deniece? Well, she's always been a little different: "ain't no man gonna touch these lips 'til I got a signed document and a preacher saying, 'Get on with yourselves.' If any man will have me." Yet, despite her non-participation, or perhaps because of it, Deniece becomes a confidante for the others as they struggle with this most ardent of passions. Complicating the issue are outside pressures like friends, family and media, plus the real-life consequences of elation, frustration, date rape, incest, and aIDS. all the while, Deniece listens and nods understandingly, providing perspective now and then by sharing her own deeply moving and surprising story.
