Levan attended the art Institute of Chicago and graduated with a degree in Theatre. He took up acting and screenwriting - he was a Walt Disney Studio Screenwriting Fellow.He began solo performances and has written for the L.A.Times. He is a contributor to "Children of the Dream: Our Own Stories of Growing up Black in America" published by Simon & Schuster.

In this Chicago-based multimedia comedy called "hysterical & incisive" by the L.a. Times, two black men re-enact their lives after having identical dreams of dying and being denied entrance to the black section of heaven because they weren't "black enough".
