Tim was born in London, educated at schools in Sussex and Dorset and read English at University College London. He began his career as an assistant stage manager with Kent Opera in 1982. Since then, he has appeared as an actor on stage, radio, TV and film and has directed many Theatre and opera productions. His first book, the Dragons at Marshmouldings, a children's novel with illustrations by Tim Baker, was published in 1984. He has written two plays and adapted a number of other works for the stage.

Eminent Victorians

Synopsis:
Bloomsbury meets the Carry On team. . .Four of Queen Victoria's most trusted agents (General Gordon, Cardinal Manning, Dr Arnold of Rugby and Florence Nightingale) are sent to burgle the country house of Bloomsbury group hostess Lady Ottoline Morrell in order to prevent the publication of a scandalous book by bearded queen Lytton Strachey. To say that the four Victorians bungle the mission is one of the great understatements of our age.

This is loosely based on Lytton Strachey's 1918 masterpiece. the libretto of the show was written by Tim Heath and Tom Adair, with lyrics by Tony Hume and music by Peter Lewis.

History Of A Young Lady

Synopsis:
The Young Lady, like many of Jane Austen's later heroines, is high-spirited and socially ambitious. But she comes from a poor family, what is she to do? Nothing, but nothing, stands in her way

Notes:
Adapted from a number of Jane Austen's juvenilia with songs by Henry Purcell and others performed by the actress at the piano. Can be performed on its own, but is best presented as the first half of a double-bill with The History of England (see below), for which purpose it was originally devised.

Merlin's Secret

Synopsis:
Merlin the Magician cannot fight the sorceress Morgan le Fay on his own. So he recruits a young hero, Arthur, destined to become King of England. Their quest is full of songs, dance, magic, romance and spectacular stage illusions and Merlin always has another secret up his sleeve.

This show was commissioned by the illusionist Doctor Bondini, who devised the magic and illusions in collaboration with the author, and who plays the role of Merlin.

Sherlock Holmes: the Adventure At Sir Arthur Sullivan's

Synopsis:
Holmes and Watson meet a friend of the composer Sir Arthur Sullivan outside the Opera House, Covent Garden, and are invited to recount some of their adventures on stage at a charity gala. The two stories that they choose to perform are Conan Doyle's A Scandal in Bohemia and Charles Augustus Milverton. But why those stories, and why were they asked to perform in the first place? "I know an optical illusion when I see one," quips the great detective. But does he?
