        Preacherosity

Preacherosity

Synopsis:
the Baptist church of Bubbling Springs, Texas, needs a divine leg-up. It has lost its preacher - too keen on the laying on of hands, apparently - and the Rock of ages Cathedral, with its free carwash, is threatening to put it out of business. Larry Herold's gentle comic Drama is set at the church's committee meeting, where the entrance of an unknown, itinerant preacher offering his services ought to be the answer to their prayers. In reality, it sparks off a round of horse-trading that suggests its members are rather less saintly than they appear.
Emma John, Time Out London
