Children Of The Cleaved Forest
Synopsis:
The story of a group of schoolgirls. Children of the cleaved forest is a short play dealing with the issue of absent presence as a central theme, and looks at how the absent presence of a mother figure in the family has effected Womens roles. The historical context of the play asks how Margaret Thatcher and her ideologies of family sought to alienate and erode the family unit have played out over the years. The play looks at how with a backdrop of the David Cameron government seeking to alienate and demonise the working class. This is a culmination of the 1990s laddette culture and the evolution of a distorted feminism. The main characters are all schoolgirls in a gang. The parts are intended to be played by actresses of any age.

A site specific piece set in an abandoned Mental Hospital. The play was part of a cycle of four plays. The play looks at the former residents of the hospital and the story of how they came to be there.

The play was 15 mins long and was part of a cycle performance of a longer 1 hour piece the shows ran 2 a day for 2 weeks
