David C. Hill has been writing plays for several decades. He was a co-founder, in 1985, of the Playwright' Workshop in Brevard County, Florida and also, in 2005, of the asHLAnd Playwrights Project in asHLAnd, Oregon. He has had nine plays fully produced and has had innumerable staged readings. "Larry's Best Friend" was recently given a non-professional production by the asHLAnd Contemporary Theatre. He is a reader for the asHLAnd New Plays Festival. Mr. Hill is a member in good standing of the Dramatists' Guild of America. He is a retired Software Developer.

Larry's Best Friend
Synopsis:
Larry's Golden Retriever, Ginger, who suddenly finds herself transformed into a beautiful woman, educates herself, gets a devoted boyfriend, a lovely wardrobe, and an awesome job. She is more successful at being human than Larry ever was, but he just wants his faithful dog back.

Why Can't He Be Like You
Synopsis:
Jack is in a bind and talks his best friend, Martin, into keep his girlfriend Pamela busy while he is on a date with another woman, Sherry. Pamela whom Martin secretly loves attempts to get drunk while Martin commiserates and confesses his feelings and she responds. Before anything further can happen Jack arrives home early from his abortive date. Martin leaves Jack and Pamela to sort things out and he agrees to drive an angry Sherry back to her hotel. Pamela is undecided between Jack and Martin and calls her friend to talk about her feelings. Martin also calls the same friend by cannot get any information from her. Sherry gets Jack fired for his behavior and Martin is promoted to Jack's position at work. Pamela resolves to break up with Jack, but Sherry pays a courtesy call on Martin and proceeds to act seductively toward him. Pamela catches them in a compromising position. She again calls her girlfriend and together they come up with a scheme. Pamela calls Jack and Martin together. Jack is convinced he and Martin should fight for her, but she proposes a sharing arrangement. Their very different responses help her to make her decision.
