April 10, 1535

Synopsis:
In the middle of an english monastery in the sixteenth century, a middle-aged monk (BROtheR aLFReD) with poor vision and even poorer job satisfaction is surprised by a mysterious woman (SING the GReeN WIND), possibly demonic, possibly immortal, who saved his life twenty five years before in the bogs. their confrontation provides the comic, Dramatic, reverential, sexual, and romantic backdrop for the first historical record of the most acclaimed term of profanity in Western civilization. Yep, that's the one . . .

Notes:
I do not consider this play in Any way sexually provocative; rather I see it As more spiritual And quirky. However, the play does contain use of the word "f**k" within the main Action of the play. One unit set. Contact Marta Praeger, Robert Freedman Dramatic Agency, New York City.

Children Of An Idol Moon

Synopsis:
a speculation on the psychological, creative, and erotic interior worlds of novelist emily Bronte. the play's foundation is the incestuous relationship between emily and her brother, Branwell, and its parallel to the creation, and narrative, focus of Wuthering Heights. Begins moments before her death in 1848, and weaves through a ribbon of time. act One ends with Branwell abandoning emily after their sexual union, and leaving for the Royal academy of London in his vainglorious attempt at a painting career. act Two incorporates emily's writing of Wuthering Heights with her cold intention to ignore her brother to death. the play ends full circle with emily's death and the brother and sister's darkly redemptive reunion.

Notes:
I was unaware of Shared experience's production of Jane eyre during rehearsal And production of Children of An Idol Moon At the University of Georgia, but feel the English theatre's expressionistic, imagistic production mirrors the level of intensity I see Children requiring. Who Loves You, Jimmie Orrio?

Synopsis:
Moonlight and moonshine combine forces with the mildly mystical in this archetypal Southern work of lyric realism-darkly poignant and comic. In a dying Tennessee trailer park in 1966. MeLINDa, mute and ageless, wonders through the nearby woods in a dirty white nightgown, alternately abused and neglected by her embittered mother, JeSSICa, whose sexuality "wilts small plants." J.T., an unflappable 13-year-old girl, Melinda's only friend, delights in rumors that she's a witch. LeONaRD, a middle-aged African-American man, stops for dessert with Jessica, and finds out the high price of a piece of pie. Jimmie Orrio, the cowboy who walks like Steve McQueen in Nevada Smith, is just out of jail for shooting a cowboy in the general area of his collar bone over something bad the cowboy was doing to a horse. On Jimmie's trailer are the words, "I Love You, Jimmie Orrio." Mysteries are answered, propelled by a potent jar of moonshine, and sugar shaken over a woman's body in the moonlight. PeN judges noted the playwright "invites us to contemplate the archetypal power of the shadow, and through catharsis, its ability to heal us."

Notes:
Winner: 2002 PeN USA West Coast Award for Best Drama produced west of the Mississippi in 2001. I emphasize that the play should not be seen As A work of strict realism; And production values should reflect the lyric, And expressionistic, realms. I Am Also potentially interested in collaborating with A theatre in instituting rewrites And/or reworking of scenes. Contact Dramatic Publishing, One unit set
