Joanne Hudson is a playwright whose work has been produced both in New York City and regionally. Her play "Minotaur" was nominated for a 2007 Cherry Lane Mentor project and her upcoming "Water ­ The Musical, episode One" will be staged this December at Collective Unconscious in NYC. She has directed much of her own work as well as the work of others, most recently, "The Monster of???" by Suzan Lori Parks for the 365 Plays in 365 Days at Barnard this fall. Some notable productions of her own work include 'POP aRT' - HeRe Arts Center, and also at the abingdon Theatre in NYC; 'Birdland' NYFringe Festival 'Western Union' with Z-Space/at The Marsh, San Francisco & expanded arts, NYC; 'Life & Death' DUMBO art Under the Bridge Festival, expanded Arts & First Stage, Los Angeles; 'The Last Supper Party' Clocktower Lofts, DUMBO; 'Tom Tom' finalist, Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival, NYC. Joanne is a founding member of DUMBO Theatre eXchange, and of the actors/Directorsą Lab at HB Studios. She is an MFA candidate in playwriting at Columbia University School of the arts, and a recipient of the Brander Matthews Theatre Fund Fellowship.
