        Mr Popper's Penguins         Superhero

Mr Popper's Penguins

Synopsis:
The main challenge facing any company attempting a child-friendly stage version of Richard and Florence Atwater's surreal story about a man who makes his dream of polar exploration come true to create the convincing penguins who make his carefully ordered domestic habitat their home - not just one little fellow living in the fridge, but an entire colony, including handfuls of cute baby chicks. This Pins and Needles production overcomes it by inventing actor-manipulated puppet birds that waddle and squawk like penguins and yet become entirely believable turmoil-creating and emotion-tugging characters with endearing personalities. - The Stage
