Originally from the Maryland/DC area, Cassandra is a Brooklyn-based playwright and actor. Her plays include her one-woman show: The Kitchen Spanish Tango, The 7 Sins of a Body-Hating Food-Lover (a dark comedy about eating disorders), The EX-Cycle, A Grimm Reality (co-writer), IBID, and The A-is-for-Abortion Play. Her work has been produced at the Manhattan Theatre Source, Theater4thePeople, Manhattan Rep Theater, the Alchemical Theater Laboratory and the New York International Fringe Festival. As a playwright Cassandra's writing has been influenced most by studying with performance artist Deb Margolin, acting teacher/director Penny Templeton, and playwright Migdalia Cruz. Her acting credits include: Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The PIT, Manhattan Theater Source, Broward Stage Door Theater, and the Annenberg Center. Cassandra graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, receiving her B.A. in Theatre Arts. As the founder of In Search of a Song Productions she has written and produced several new plays by female playwrights, and also founded the Generations Theater Project.
