2008: Macbeth
Synopsis:
Military commander Macbeth unleashes a nightmare of carnage and destruction. a war on terror that is a war of terror. Set in a contemporary and brutal Middle Eastern conflict, 2008: Macbeth is unflinching in its depiction of the machine of violence that, once set in motion, works faster and ever more efficiently. If killing in a war is justified, so is killing in the privacy of one's home. If you can kill men, why not also women and children? With spectacular pyrotechnics, immersive video effects and an extraordinary, layered soundscape that plays tricks on the ear, Shakespeare's web of politics, ambition and the supernatural is transformed into a contemporary, and highly physical, theatrical film.

Nosferatu
Synopsis:
Nosferatu is a dark enthralling interpretation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, a masterpiece of Gothic horror and one of the most evocative texts in popular culture, having spawned countless works of literature, drama and film since its publication in 1897. The novel boasts one of the most sinister characters ever created, Count Dracula, the father of all vampires trapped between life and death, whose diabolical passions prey upon the innocent and the beautiful. Seducing his audience into a dream-like state, Grzegorz Jarzyna uses the vampiric myth of life after death and the regenerative power of blood in this psychological and metaphysical thriller. Nosferatu explores the conflict between the fear of the unknown entrenched in human nature and our enduring fascination with dark secrets, obsessions and the need for transgression.

T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T.
Synopsis:
as a prologue to the play proper, the man we will come to know as the father, Paolo (Jan Englert), takes questions from 'the audience' (nice work for three Wellington actors). Thus he opines that society is doomed because everyone is conforming to the global standards of capitalism, public television is imposing images controlled by demagogues, the church is a product of necessity and the notion of consolation is meaningless. He defends his life's work as a manufacturer, and the wealth that has brought him. and when asked if he believes in God, he replies, thrice: "I don't understand the question." Towards the end of the play, vox-pop projections canvass working class people on whether they believe in miracles, eliciting notions of what would constitute a miracle in their lives.
